Beatty Days, October 25-27

Not even hectic work schedules, finicky classics, dangerous merging, or Alien pit-stops could stop our 2 hour caravan for Beatty Days Weekend. John & Judy Pendergast, Charles & Barbara Benson, Harry Ransom, John Munoz, and myself enjoyed the Beatty Day’s Parade and Car Show held October 25th-27th in Beatty, NV.

This year we had 3 vehicles entered into the car show and we drove away with 2 wins. Harry Ransom and John Munoz were awarded for their 1967 Chevrolet Corvair and 1970 GMC Pickup, congratulations gentlemen!

The parade experience was exciting and full of local Beatty attendees running around collecting candy thrown from passing parade vehicles. While we awaited with eager anticipation for our 3 high roller vehicles, Barbara helped the countless children collect the yummy candies like a genuine grandmother would. Harry led our group with his Corvair, followed by John & Judy’s Plymouth, and finishing the trio was John’s GMC pickup.

The festivities in the park included car show judging, chili cook-off (delicious!), vendor shops, old fashioned ice cream, rock climbing, music, and so much more. After celebrating the clubs two wins, we concluded Saturday evening at Gema’s Wagon Wheel Cafe right off Main St. Sadly, due to the high winds on Sunday, Beatty Days Weekend was cancelled for Sunday.

Everyone returned safely home on Sunday and I personally had an amazing time with each and every member there. Grateful to be apart of this classic car club and looking forward to the next event.
